The results of the proposal review for the observing season 2021-S1 (March 15th – September 15th, 2021; no observations were conducted in 2021, but they were carried over to March through July 2022) are summarized here. 75 proposals were received during the 2021-S1 observing season, for a total of 1,703 requested observing hours. The oversubscription factors for each user community are as follows: Mexico = 2.4, UMass = 2.4, US = 2.3.
The reduced available observing time in the current 2021-S1 observing season and the uncertainty about the schedule to return to normal telescope operations have made the assignment of the scheduling priority grades particularly problematic. Given the uncertainty at the start of the scientific operation, a small number of the highest priority programs from each community have been designated for “carryover” into the next season. Scheduling priority grades based on the panel and community reviews are listed below.
